Diarmuid Johnson

Ireland

Diarmuid Johnson is author of over twenty books spanning poetry, fiction, works of research, and translations. His acclaimed “Tara Trilolgy” is a revisiting of the forgotten origin tales of Ireland – “Conaire Mór”, “Tuatha Dé Danann and Éadaoin”. His most recent work, “Ceallach – Cín Lae Fíréin”, narrates the life of the 6th century Irish monk who founded the Swiss city of St. Gallen. Forthcoming works include “An Cláirseoir", a historic novel set in the 12th century at the time of the Norman invasions of Wales and Ireland.

Tá ainm in airde ar Dhiarmuid Johnson in Éirinn agus thar lear. Is fear é a bhfuil os cionn scór leabhar scríofa aige. Ina measc sin, tá cnuasaigh filíochta, úrscéalta miotaseolaíochta, agus aistriúcháin liteartha. In “Ceallach – Cín Lae Fíréin", tá insint ar eachtraí na manach a d’fhág fód na hÉireann sa 6ú haois le briathar Dé a chraobhscaoileadh. I measc na bhfoilseachán atá ar an bacáin aige, tá “An Cláirseoir", úrscéal staire faoi theacht na Normanach go hÉirinn.

>> Diarmuid Johnson will be present at the opening performance (22nd March, 7pm, Alliance Française) and at the second panel “Bad Taste?” (23rd March, 2pm, Dublin Castle)
