Screening: Les carnets de Julie – A la table de Colette

Saturday 23 March 2024 at 1pm – Castle Hall, Dublin Castle, Dublin 2

Alliance Française Dublin is pleased to collaborate with the team behind the French documentary Les Carnets de Julie, directed by Julie Andieu who travels all around France to discover culinary heritages and different cuisines in each region. All her recipes are related to famous French writers. A la Table de Colette is a documentary dedicated to the great 20th century French author Colette. Julie goes in Saint-Sauveur en Puisaye, in the county of Yonne, where Colette was born. She spent the best years of her life there with her mother Sido. It was there that she discovered a taste for nature, but also a taste for good produce and food, and she would claim to be a keep her gourmet tastes all her life. On the menu: “poulet au blanc” and “brochet sauce mousseline”, bringing Colette’s table straight to you!

You may think you know the stories of Colette, the famous French author, but you might not know her taste for food and so many flavours. A la Table de Colette is a short documentary discovering the taste of Colette and mixing food and literature.
