Ailbhe Smyth

Ailbhe Smyth is the former head of Women’s Studies (WERRC) at UCD (University College Dublin), and has published widely on feminism, politics and culture, including Women's Rights in Ireland (1983). She is a long-time campaigner on feminist, LGBT and other social issues, and was centrally involved in the successful marriage equality referendum campaign in 2015. She was the Co-Director of the national "Together for Yes" campaign in 2018, and Co-founder and Convenor of Coalition to Repeal the Eighth Amendment.
