John Banville was born in Wexford in
1945. His novels include The Book of Evidence,
The Sea, which won the Man Booker Prize (2005),
Ancient Light and, most recently, The Blue Guitar.
Under the pen-name Benjamin Black he has written a
series of crime novels, including Christine Falls
and Even the Dead. He has been awarded the Kafka
Prize, the Austrian State Prize for Literature, and the
Prince of Asturias Award. |

John Banville
est né à Wexford en 1945. Il est l’auteur de plusieurs
romans dont Le livre des aveux (The Book of
Evidence) et La Mer (The Sea) qui a
reçu le Man Booker Prize respectivement en 2005, La
Lumière des étoiles mortes (Ancient Light) et The
Blue Guitar, paru dernièrement. Il a écrit une série
de romans policiers sous le nom Benjamin Black, parmi
lesquels figurent Les Disparus de Dublin (Christine
Falls) et Even the Dead. Il a reçu le Prix
Kafka, le Grand Prix d’État autrichien dans la catégorie
littérature et le Prix Prince des Asturies. |
