John Banville was born
in Wexford in 1945. His novels include Birchwood, The
Book of Evidence, Shroud and The Infinities.
In 2005 he was awarded the Man Booker Prize for his work
The Sea. He has also won the Franz Kafka Prize
and the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature. He
writes crime novels under the pen-name Benjamin Black,
the latest of which is Holy Orders (2014). He
reviews regularly for The Irish Times, the New
York Review of Books and the London Guardian. |
