Born in Dublin in 1942,
Macdara Woods has published seventeen books,
mainly poetry, as well as collaborating with graphic artists and
with composers and performers on a number of CDs. His most recent
collections are: Artichoke Wine, and a reprint of the 2000
Knowledge In The Blood: New and Selected Poems in 2007. He has
read his work from Berkeley in California to the Gorki Institut and
Moscow State University in Moscow. Most recently he has read in
Brazil, Argentina and Turkey. His work has been translated into more
than a dozen languages. His next collection, The Cotard Dimension,
is due out in 2011, and a Collected Poems is due for April
2012. He is also a founder-editor of the literary journal Cyphers
and a member of Aosdána.
