Enrique Vila-Matas studied law and journalism. He is the author of extensive work in fiction,

 

translated into 29 languages to date. He is considered by many  critics as one of the best Spanish authors alive today. His recent  publications include Dietario voluble (Journal volubile), Doctor  Pasavento (Docteur Pasavento), París no se acaba nunca   (Paris ne finit jamais), El mal de Montano (Le mal de  Montano) and Bartleby y compañía (Bartleby et Compagnie),  the last two published recently in the UK. He was decorated a  Knight of the Legion of Honour by France and is a winner of  numerous national literary awards. He is a founding member of the  Order of Finnegans which holds annual meetings in Dublin on June  16th in commemoration of Joyce’s Ulysses.
