At the Institut Saint-Luc comic book workshop, François Schuiten   met   Claude   Renard 

with whom he has completed two albums: Aux médianes de  Cymbiola and Le Rail. He is also working with him on three  collective volumes of the 9ème Rêve. over the years, he has  worked with his brother Luc on the cycle of Terres Creuses, three  albums of which have come out to date: Carapaces, Zara   and  Nogegon.

Since 1980, François Schuiten has been working with Benoît  Peeters on the series Les Cités Obs­cures.

He has completed many set designs for universal exhibitions, films  and operas. In 2002 he obtained the Grand Prix d’Angoulême, the  highest European award for comic books.
