father who spent his childhood in Algeria. From a very early age she has lived in Montreal where she currently teaches literature in Montreal University. Her first story, which has just been re-published, came out in 2000: Deuils cannibales et Mélancoliques. Since then, Catherine Mavrikakis has published four other stories: Ça va aller, Fleurs de crachat, Ventriloquies, an epistolary tale with Martine Delvaux, and Le ciel de Bay City which just came out in 2009 in France. For this novel, she received several prizes in Quebec. She has also written a play: Omaha Beach.
